Job Description

Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center seeks a talented HR professional to join us in the position of Human Resources Generalist at our Sebring, Florida hotel.

 

Will be responsible for human resources functions including recruiting, employee relations, new hire processing, training and development, health and safety, compensation and benefits and performance management.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Maintains knowledge employment law and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruiting responsibilities, including screening, interviewing and selecting candidates for position, including international recruiting and immigration requirements.
  • Plans and conducts new hire orientation.
  • Keep records of benefits plan participation.
  • Management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance management, safety and sexual harassment.
  • Handles all aspects of employee relations.
  • Manages employee policies and questions.
  • Administers the annual performance review program.
  • Assists in administering benefits programs.
  • Maintains effective employee communication.
  • Conducts wage surveys.
  • Prepares separation documentation and conducts exit interviews.
  • Act as manager on duty for the hotel in the absence of other hotel management.

Required skills/experience:

                

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years’ human resources experience in a fast-paced busy environment.

 

Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and guest service related tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision.  This person must be exceedingly well organized and flexible. The ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role.

  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly and outgoing personality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong ability to work will with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and diffuse volatile situations
