AMA Pro Racing seeks a talented professional to join our team in the position of Communications Manager based in our Daytona Beach, FL office.
The Communications Manager serves as the publicist, media relations liaison and manager of American Flat Track’s owned media channels. Primary point of contact with the series’ external PR agency, industry media, sponsor/athlete PR representatives and local news media. Responsible for curating storylines, pitching and coordinating coverage opportunities with earned media in the motorcycle and racing industries, as well as local print and television news outlets in markets where series events are held. Primary content writer, editor for all external communication and manager of American Flat Track’s owned media channels, including AMAProRacing.com, AmericanFlatTrack.com and the series’ social media presence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Curate and pitch storylines to secure coverage that will deliver maximum impact for the organization.
Content creator and editor for all internal and external communication, including press releases, newsletters, bulletins, series media guides, event programs, rider bios, website content and social media posts.
Maintain constant dialogue with external PR agency to scale storylines and develop/coordinate coverage opportunities with mainstream and non-endemic media.
Build relationships with industry media to ensure that the organization receives regular coverage.
Pitch local/in-market news media to generate coverage, raise awareness and drive ticket sales for each event.
Manager of Owned Media
Day-to-day operation and upkeep of all owned media outlets, posting website content, photos/videos and ensuring that all information is kept up to date. Must have experience managing content for websites and utilizing Content Management Systems.
Develop and implement a social media plan, leveraging series photo/video content and conveying messaging in the appropriate tone. Must understand social trends and have a familiarity with Facebook Business.
Analyze Google Analytics and Facebook Insight data to identify trends in reach and demographics.
Monitor and respond to communication received from fans via email and social media.
Provide regular reports to management on the social pulse and public opinion of the series.
Percent of travel required: 35%, including weekend travel.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Public Relations/Communications/Journalism/English ; or seven (7) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
