Job Description

IMSA seeks a talented professional to join in the position of IMSA Director, Business Development based in our Daytona Beach, FL office.


The Director, Business Development will be responsible for prospecting, researching, securing meetings, partnership ideas development, presentation preparation, presenting, closing and contracting sponsorships with new partners.


Duties include, but are not limited to:


Prospecting: Identify open categories and research potential marketing partners; Contact decision makers within each organization through cold-calling and networking within assigned categories.


Presenting: Prepare unique and compelling presentations that showcase IMSA and/or Sebring International Raceway, Road Atlanta sponsorship assets.  Present to prospective partners during in person meetings and/or during webinars / telephone calls.


Closing: Negotiate and finalize sponsorship agreements that maximize revenue and related benefits for IMSA, Sebring International Raceway and Road Atlanta; work within IMSA and with race track facility designated staff to secure inventory and delivery of assets, future partnership expansion, renewal and retention.


Coordinate contract development and execution with the company’s Legal through the entire contract process.


Develop and maintain an effective and efficient working relationship with IMSA and race track staff to fully understand the opportunities and assets and achieve successful results.


Work in conjunction with the VP Marketing and the respective Track Presidents and/or Track Sales and Marketing staff to develop and implement an effective annual business plan that will drive Corporate Partnership revenue in identified key categories.


Work in tandem with the Corporate Partnership team to generate sponsorship ideas, share "best practices" and development strategies that maximize Corporate Partnership revenue for the race track facilities and the racing series.


Establish and maintain strong relationships with Business Development peers within the NASCAR and International Speedway Corporation (ISC) entities. Leverage synergistic opportunities, access to existing relationships / contacts, etc. Actively participate in the NASCAR Fuel for Business activities.

Approximate Travel 25%





  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be available to work some evenings and/or weekends.


Must be well organized, detail oriented, creative and have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.


Must exemplify strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong public speaking / presentations skills.


Must be able to demonstrate time management, resource planning and organization skills.


Analytical thinker with the ability to quickly understand current and potential partners' business model, goals and objectives, and how a partnership with the race track facilities and/or series can grow their business.


Must be able to operate and promote a team environment and demonstrate a commitment to organizational and personal growth.


Able to travel for race events and standard business meetings as necessary up to approximately 25% of the time.
