Job Description

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join our team in the position of Senior Infrastructure/Cloud Engineer based in our Charlotte, NC office.



The Senior Infrastructure/Cloud Engineer is responsible for supporting the digital platform with an emphasis on its content management system, outbound feed delivery, and related products. This position requires strong knowledge of leading cloud computing systems and their related services including, but limited to networking, databases, and “server less” computing.



The Senior Infrastructure/Cloud Engineer duties include, but are not limited to:


Manage CQ5 as well as WordPress projects, and be involved in overall site architecture and code delivery


Troubleshoot infrastructure and software problems as well as bugs in an operational environment


Utilize deep understanding of existing digital platform including associated databases, data sources and dependencies, workflow, information architecture, and legacy systems currently in production


Administer and maintain a variety of server environments ranging from production web hosting systems, cloud server environments, to internal tools


Maintain technical documentation on physical architectures and topologies of various environments


Support the development team in the administration and operation of SDLC tools


Document, maintain and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans


Provide support to the operations team during weekends and off-hours


Provide recommendations and best practices for infrastructure and application monitoring tools and processes


Create and reconcile infrastructure usage, billing and forecast reports


Work closely with the development and operations teams to create and execute plans for releases, launches and other large changes or projects


Write new documentation as needed, and evaluate existing documentation for completeness and accuracy


Travel: < 5%, including weekends






Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from four (4) year college or university and two (2) to five (5) years of current Systems Administration experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of two (2) years working with technology systems in an administrative or technical capacity.


Experience with some of the following:

Experience working with server administration tools and processes including scripting languages, virtualization tools and operating systems

Experience working with and maintaining UNIX or Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu)

Experience administering large public websites

Experience administering Wordpress websites

Experience using Configuration Management tools (Chef, Puppet, etc.)

Experience administering and maintaining cloud based systems (AWS, Azure, etc.)

Experience with API management tools (Azure, AWS, .NET)

Experience with .NET

Experience managing relational and non-relational databases
