Job Description

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join our team in the position Coordinator, Content Communications based in our Charlotte, NC office. 


Provides creation and editing support for the company’s best-in-class media website, as well as strategic media relations and written tactical support across the company’s individual business units in the office and at-track on race weekends. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Compile, edit and package audio, photography and statistical content and successfully upload to our best-in-class media website in the office during the regular work week, at home and at-track during select race weekends in support of all company business units.
  • Create and edit key tactical documents, creative files, presentations and other assets for IMC utilizing software like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Audition and Adobe InDesign.
  • Write and edit written materials, including but not limited to press releases, pitch documents, award submissions, message points, traditional media monitoring and campaign recap reports.
  • Serve as content, statistical operations or media outreach lead for race events, including traveling to select races.
  • Mine for and identify rich story-telling opportunities that convey the company’s on-track and off-track attributes and communicate key messages.
  • Develop a personal network of traditional and non-endemic media contacts to utilize in daily proactive outreach efforts and foster relationships
  • Strategically place positive news, sports, feature, business and lifestyle stories with national and key the company’s market print, broadcast and online media.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the development of Racing Communications marketing / communication plans, ideation sessions and weekly all-IMC outreach and team meetings.
  • Integrate with other IMC department tacticians and key business units, and identify alignment opportunities.
  • Participate in the quantitative and qualitative measurement and analysis of the return on investment of various IMC-driven programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate / assist with events staffed by IMC personnel including but not limited to races, media tours, summits, editorial roadshows, etc.
  • Up to 30%, including nights and weekends.


Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and 1-3 years of experience in Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, and/or Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Sports, agency, and/or in-house experience working on big brands required. Integrated marketing communications experience a plus.



  •  Ability to read, write and converse in Spanish is preferred but not required
