NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Senior Coordinator, Digital Content based in our Charlotte, NC office.
The Senior Coordinator, Digital Content role encompasses content creation, presentation and quality control. This position will evaluate innovative ways to create content across multiple digital and social platforms, package content that increases fan engagement on the company’s Digital platform, which include placement of content on series pages, editing, video creation and posting, working across a newly unified content department, and analysis of analytics.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Create and program content in an effective way on the company website and applicable social channels, often working under tight deadlines.
Content ideation and creation, gathering and sizing associated images, writing headlines and blurbs and
editing and posting video.
Basic QA of high-traffic, high-engagement and high-expectation components, including section fronts, site navigation, schedule, standings, track & ticket information, sponsor obligation and support of OEM and official partners.
Identification, production and curation of social media content, including writing blog posts and other short stories.
Editing stories for factual accuracy as well as adherence to different styles, NASCAR and Associated Press styles included. Also editing for punctuation and grammatical accuracy.
Placement of stories and story packages on section fronts, using analytical tools and news judgment to determine order.
Approximate travel 5-10% including weekends; night and weekend work required.
Qualifications include the following:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; plus two (2) to three (3) years Digital Media experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with online publishing tools.
- Journalism degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience with deadline pressure.
- Willingness to work weekends and nights and some travel to events for coverage.
