    Job Description

    IMSA seeks a talented professional to join us in the position of Manager, Technical Compliance and Scrutineering based in the Daytona Beach, Florida office. This position manages race event technical inspections and directing competitors in proper procedures for participating in race events.


    Primary responsibilities include managing in event technical inspection process, organizing technical inspection staffing and establishing improvements and efficiencies in the technical inspection process. This would include branching these efficiencies across all IMSA platforms.


    Duties include, but are not limited to:


                Organize season long staffing

                Developing inspection processes

                Managing inspection equipment

                Managing collected inspection information

                Managing Homologation data bases

                Provide post event Technical Inspection report to Technical Department


                Pre-event Technical Inspection area set up

                Manage Technical Inspection line


    Responsible for developing inspection strategies beginning with the WeatherTech Series.


    Responsible for organizing and maintaining inspection measuring equipment used for at track inspections.


    Responsible for organizing, tracking and supervising at track part time technical inspection staff.


    Responsible for assigning and supervising Technical Inspectors' work assignments during predefined work hours.


    Responsible for developing contemporary documentation and reporting strategies. These strategies should include electronic query capabilities used by other Technical Department personnel for the reference of BoP reporting.


    Responsible for documenting, reporting and resolving inspection conflicts with Sr. Technical and Competition staffing during events.


    Assist in work day preparation including but not limited to unloading of transporters, setting up all inspection equipment and devices in a timely manner.


    Directly supervise one or more assigned inspection stations for preliminary through pre-and post-race inspections ensuring that competitors are following all IMSA technical regulations.


    Maintain appropriate inspection documents in a legible, accurate and complete manner.


    Manage issues appropriate in garage and pit areas.


    Assist in various garage observations / inspections as requested.


    Assist in post work day operations to include disassembly / recovery of equipment and records.


    Manage and assist in post-race tear down and loading of equipment.


    Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.


    Approximate travel 50%.




    Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



    Manages assigned staff in the Competition Department (including Chassis, Engine, Fuel Systems, Template, Mechanical Measurements and Safety Supervisors).
