    Job Description

    Summary

    NASCAR is looking for an Accountant – AR who will create invoices for NASCAR Holding and subsidiaries, investigates payments for application, follows-up on invoices that are 30 days or more overdue, reconciles accounts, and manages weekly reports.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Creates invoices in Great Plains Software, enters and reconciles invoice information in Accounts Receivable Accounts, prints copies of invoices and distributes, and files copy along with any backup information and posting journal coding. Also issues credit memos and maintains customers files within WebNow and Great Plains.
    • Processes cash, check and electronic payments received by investigating for payment application, obtaining coding for the payment, and providing coding to Cash Receipts for processing.
    • Manage recurring intercompany contractual billings.
    • Prepare and distribute weekly Accounts Receivable reports to various department vice presidents, managers and account executives, through WebNow system.
    • Assist with Month End journal entries and Account Review.
    • Prepares month end account reconciliations for all Holdings AR Accounts.
    • Responsible for maintaining licensing revenue information including payments received, royalties reported, and contractual requirements. Prepares comparison of royalties reported against payments received and minimum guarantees included in the contracts. Provides reporting on this information to the Licensing and Consumer Products department.
    • Assist with special projects as needed.

     

    This position may occasionally be required to work overtime as needed, to meet the objectives of the position and department.

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent from two (2) year college and two (2) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Other Skills

    • Strong knowledge of Excel.
    • Must be able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
    • Must maintain a positive attitude and work ethic.
