    Job Description

    NASCAR seeks two talented professionals to join our team in the position of Benefits Specialists, based in our Daytona Beach, FL offices.

     

    SUMMARY

    The Benefits Specialists will be responsible for daily administration of benefits and providing support to the Benefits and Wellness team.    

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES .

     

    Each Benefits Specialist will:

    • Serve as backup to Benefit’s Team
    • Provide administrative support to the benefits group, Managing Director, and VP
    • Ensure documentation of all pertinent communications related to the administration of all benefits matters are captured for filing system. Responsible for all benefits filing pertaining to job responsibilities.
    • Assist in quarterly/annual audits to ensure accuracy of employee benefit plans.
    • Other duties as assigned

     Benefits Specialist A:

    • Process the monthly benefit invoice reconciliation. Work with carriers to determine errors and make appropriate corrections.
    • Process monthly COBRA reimbursements for enrolled non-active employees.
    • Process bi-weekly benefit deduction reconciliation for Variable Hour employees.
    • Audit and reconcile HSA file and funding employee and employer contributions.
    • Maintain the Benefit Department Budget Spreadsheet.
    • Execute Wellness activities such as company annual Biometric Screenings, Health Fair, flu shots, Fruit Initiatives etc. Planning includes vendor selection, donations, space requirements, employee giveaways, activities, printed materials, technology, communication materials and attendance enhance the employee experience.
    • Create employee benefits and wellness communications to employees via Company intranet, e-mail blasts, employee TV, or newsletters.   

     Benefits Specialist B:

    • Enroll New Hires in benefit plans. Ensure all benefits paperwork is available, accurate, current and legally compliant. 
    • Process Qualifying Life Events. Ensure that appropriate timelines are met and coordinating documentation is received. 
    • Audit benefits after an employee transfer has been completed in the HRIS System.
    • Prepare, send, and track termination paperwork and checklists.
    • Assist with reporting Worker's Compensation claims. Work with employee and supervisors in compliance with Federal and State Laws. Coordinate annual WC Review and work with lost time/ medical only adjusters Maintain OSHA logs, prepare OSHA 300A logs and post annually.
    • Life Insurance enrollment – Process and follow up for EOI applications
    • Schedule and plan quarterly and adhoc 401(k) meetings. 
    • Enter monthly commuter benefit elections into HRIS system and transmit funding notifications to Accounting.  Work with carrier to ensure that employee elections are accurate and bank account information is up to date.
    • Manage, schedule and execute needed meetings, webinars, and other employee-related activities.

    Travel percentage for both openings is less than 5%

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or 2-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
