    Job Description

    The NASCAR Foundation seeks a Director of Development, responsible for the fundraising and revenue goals for The Foundation. The Director will develop and execute an annual fundraising plan that includes special events, at-track activation, sponsor engagement, individual gifts, major gifts and legacy gifts.  Travel 20%, including weekends.

     

    Essential Duties

    • Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan
    • Oversee fundraising efforts to support The Foundation's programs
    • Develop, implement and monitor progress towards short and long term fundraising strategies and goals
    • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective funders and supporters
    • Maintain oversight of all fundraising activities including special events, major giving, direct mail appeals, and corporate partnership initiatives
    • Serve as a public representative of the organization, including cultivating relationships with community members, including prospective volunteers and supporters, in order to build awareness of and commitment to the work of The Foundation
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as requested by department leadership
    • Participate in meetings, staff meetings and other organizational meetings as directed
    • Directly supervises fundraising team                                            

    Education and/or Experience                                                 

    Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and a minimum of eight years related experience and/or training in fundraising and management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Other Qualifications                                          

    • Proven track record of raising funds from diverse sources, including individual and major gifts, foundations, corporations and government agencies.
    • Experience in donor cultivation, special events, contracts management and grant writing.
    • Demonstrated commitment to accountability, measuring outcomes and a results-oriented culture.
    • Strong written and verbal communications.
    • Strong interpersonal, supervision, administration and management skills.
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
    • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
    • Possess sounds judgment, professionalism and a positive attitude.
    • Possess resourcefulness, creativity and strong problem-solving skills.
